The Three Most Important Days of Your Life

Mark Twain famously said…

The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.

Those words are true but not quite enough. There’s a third day you need to add.

The Third Day: The day you take action to live out your why

The difference between intention and action is massive. It’s not enough to simply spend days, weeks, months, and years contemplating your why.

Once you discover it, you must do something to live it out. You may hold back from taking action because of fear, anxiety, past failure, insecurity, or feeling like you’re not quite ready. I know the feeling, but to be truly alive and a difference maker, you must stop letting your limiting beliefs and attitudes hold you captive.

Assuming you do have a sense of purpose for life, what is the next best action you can take to move that purpose into action? You have been born for a reason but to fulfill it, you move that purpose from inside your head and heart to your feet, hands and mouth.

The Three Most Important Days

The three most important days in your life are the day you were born, the day you find out why, and the day you take action on that why.

You may never “feel” completely ready but don’t let that stop you. Exercise the belief or faith you do have and start walking it out. Speak or write the first few words of encouragement. Serve people who need your time, attention, or support. Create the “thing” that will make the lives of others a little bit better.

Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step. – Martin Luther King Jr.
