Five Motivating Reasons to be Grateful
Gratitude is fuel for life’s engine. It keeps you energized and focused on the things that matter.
Here are five motivational reasons for taking time each today to be grateful.
1. Gratitude helps erase discontent
If a fellow isn’t thankful for what he’s got, he isn’t likely to be thankful for what he’s going to get. — Frank A. Clark
Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for. — Epicurus
2. Gratitude re-frames “have to’s” into “get to’s”
Think of every single thing that we ‘have to’ do to get through a day as something that we ‘get to’ do… before our turn is over. Everything is a gift. – Mike Dooley
3. Gratitude increases emotional health
Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for. —Zig Ziglar
4. Gratitude generates abundance
Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough. —Oprah Winfrey
None is more impoverished than the one who has no gratitude. Gratitude is a currency that we can mint for ourselves, and spend without fear of bankruptcy. —Fred De Witt Van Amburgh
5. Gratitude turns the little things into big things
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. — Robert Brault
When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around. —Willie Nelson
